I... see this is what happens when you don't have a plan!
I started off attempting to draw a picture of some people on a hill... how I got here I'll never know. Stars, planets and clouds were "borrowed" from previous pieces of mine (something I need to stop doing).
I'm not entirely happy with it, I couldn't get the water reflections on the bit with the planets to look right, but otherwise, enjoy.
Edit: Changed the planets around so they didn't sit flat with the plane of the ocean... makes it more interesting.

I think the main issue is that there's not enough realism in the water closest to the viewer to pull it off, as well as the fact that the other rim looks like it's just cut off, while closer to the viewer, there is a rise of waves around the rim. This creates a sort of lump-sided illusions for me.
